PaperHaus Magazine and Halo Handmade DT

Hi Peeps...hope all is well today. Lisa Duke here to share a tutorial on how I put a layout together. This was a challenge for me to make and I am glad to escape my box!! I made this for PaperHaus Magazine and Handmade Halo  Design Team.I am also playing along at Berry71Bleu with this layout!
#: First I picked out the photos I wanted to use and I have been wanting to scrap this photo of my dgd for awhile.
Then I hunt through my paper stash and see which ones I like the best.
Then on this one I cut out the center to save on paper and maybe make a flower to match later.

On this background I decided to try an image transfer. I have never done one before. So I picked out and image I wanted to use and got out my Gloss Gel Medium. I didn't want the whole page so I painted my medium just on the image, giving it a pretty good coat, then placing it face down on my background. Now let it dry completely.
Spray image with water, I did a little more than misted it as you can see, let it soak for a minute, and dab the excess water of.
Then with the utmost care start rubbing lightly with your finger. I can't stress enough to do this very slowly until your image appears. You can fine tune it but if you rub to hard the image will come off. Let the image dry.
Here is how it turned out. For the rest of the background I used a zebra mask and gesso and some TA glimmer mist (Fully Purple).
Then it was really bright and I wanted to tone it down so I gave the whole page a wash of watered down gesso.
hen I still wasn't happy so I decided to add a little more texture with the paper you see in the photo. The I was finally done and ready to embellish!!!!
This is what I came up with. The resin flower in the middle of the film strip and the bird cage charm are from Handmade Halo, these are just 2 of the hundreds you can choose from!!!! Hope you enjoyed my tutorial...Have a fabulous weekend!!!
Thank you for visiting, I appreciate it very much. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

So Sweet--Handmade Halo DT project

Hello...and welcome. Here is a layout I made of my darling grand daughter on her first birthday!!! She is so cute! I made this for Handmade Halo. Corinne has some beautiful items in her store! I also made this for 3 other challenges, 1. Unique crafters challenge blog, and 2 Scrapbook.com. challenges. Trying to get a couple of birds with one stone kind of thing. Never did like that saying to much!
Here are some close ups.
The green you see is some gloss gel medium and some silk acrylic paint and I used a mask to get it on there.
Here you can see the beautiful bird cage charm from Handmade Halo and also the resin rose in the paper tear. The chipboard is from my store located to the right of my blog.
The large pink flower is handmade by me and the cute little green leaves are also from Handmade Halo. I hand stitched the swirl on and I also made the white flowers. Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate it!

Funtoolas Kit, November

Hello and welcome. Here are my DT projects for this beautiful Funtoolas November kit called. This kit is so full of beautiful papers and embellies I just loved working with it.
Here is a photo of my girl when she was a pup in her first snow. She still holds up her front leg like that to this day! So pop on over to Funtoolas and check out the kit. We also have some wonderful challenges going on also and even a swap!!! I made this for 3 challenges, 1 the OUAS challenge, sb.com pet challenge, and sb.com girls, girls, girls challenge.
I used a lot of gesso to give the page a snowy feel.
A close up of my flower cluster. I did use a couple of flowers from my own stash.
I made the rosette using the rosette die from Tim Holtz and the buttons were perfectly matched for this kit and I added a little gesso to them also.

Here is the gorgeous Prima bling that was in the kit. I did cut it in half to use the other side on the bottom side of the cluster.
My second project I made a thank you card to have on hand. Can never have to many of those!!!
I used some mists and ink and again some gesso. The flower is from the kit and it started out white but I wanted to match the card...You sure won't be disappointed with this kit, lots of ways to create your own beautiful projects!!! Thank you so much for stopping by, I truly appreciate it!!
