For a friend!!

Ok this will be my last post till the new year!! I made this for a friend..for her daughter's graduation present. I am a little late but I still think she will like it. I have one of my featherrflies on this. I make these butterflies out of our chicken feathers. Nothing is safe around me!!

So I wanted to take the time to wish everyone a Happy New Year!! As I get older the years seem to fly by even faster! I hope this new year brings happiness to all of you!

Christmas!!

Well late Merry Christmas! I love Christmas but I also love when it is over! So much preparing for 20 minutes of eating and depending on your kids about 10 minutes of present opening!! But I do love having little ones around. Their freshness about Christmas keeps me going. I did a lot of tags and present toppers this year. I love working with ink.
Thia tag was fun to make...another thing I love to do is distress. I try not to but I just can't stop myself!! Sometimes I think I over do it but oh well.
I wasn't to pleased with this one so I will leave it at that.
Now this is my favorite one, naturally with the horse on it. I had a lot of fun with this one!! Also I love this color!!
This one I made for my grand daughter's present. I recycled the image of another card. I thought it was cute and perfect to use on her present!!
This was for my hubby's present...he went deer hunting (and didn't get one...yesh!! for the deer) so  I had to put a deer on his.
Well I hope everyone had happy and safe holidays!!! Now if we can make it through New Years we will be doing good. Can't believe another year has passed!! Thank you for visiting!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Card and Tags!!

Happy Holidays all!! Hope the hustle and bustle don't get to you. I made this card for my 2 year old grand daughter. We just celebrated her b-day and I can not believe she is two already!!  She is adorable and I think my son is gong to get some pay back with her. She is a tough little one!! Of coarse I am getting a big kick out of that!!!

Here are a few tags I made. I did get inspired by all the sites having, well I guess tag competitions!!! I did not enter any but had some fun making them. I do love to use the ink!!! A fav for me. I also ink the ribbon to match.

This one below I used ink, paint and glitter. I always put a seal of glossy accents over the tag. I just like the effect it gives.
This was my first time embossing!! I have always wanted to have that to add to my stuff and I finally was able to get a few supplies but I have a lot to learn there but I LOVE to learn new techniques.
So that is about it...I hope you are having a wonderful start to the new week...I am wanting to get some baking done, don't ya just love how the house smells when you're baking. Reminds me of being a kid and my Ma making cookies. Great memories!!! Well so long for now...have a good one.

A tribute to Charcoal and a couple of tags!!

Well I have neglected my blog lately. This is a layout I did of a cat we were lucky to share 17 years with. She was a great cat. Charcoal was a mother hen when our daughter was a toddler and if daughter cried Charcoal would run to her from where ever she was and would get in her lap. She was a pound kitty and when I walked into the kitty room she had her paw through the bars and her toes were actually gesturing me to come over to her. That was that!! She had a home.

Made this tag to kinda follow the Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas....I do not have the supplies he has but did my best with what I have. He makes some awesome tags and one day I will have those supplies!!!
Made this tag for a swap for over at Pages In Time. They have some cool swaps and the ladies there are awesome. So glad I was told of that site.

Well hopefully I can do some more scrapping this week. I get busy with other things...well ya all know that story....Thank you for taking a peek at my blog. Happy Holidays!!!

A slow week

Charms!!! Yes another new thing! These are really fun to make and as you can see I do not like to make any of the same ones. You can use your old broken jewelery to make them so it gives it a second go around. I will be adding some of these to my layouts if I ever get back into creating one.!!

This is what I got to do today. Just me and my horse out on the trail. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Just the sound of his hooves, out in nature. Who could ask for anymore than that.
This is a beautiful Mtn. in our area called Tabletop. It is completely flat on top. When it rains some of the most awesome waterfalls come off this Mtn. People also rock climb right where you see the little ridge.
Well this is the turn around today. He hasn't been out for awhile so I want to condition him slowly. Plus it is always faster on the way home.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Been Busy!!!

A layout of my daughter. This is her senior picture and I tried to capture things she like so when she looks at it in 30 years she will remember what she liked then!! Can not believe she is going to graduate. As usual like for everyone the time flew by. I did add one of my featherrflies to this in the top right hand corner. Have sold a couple of them. Whoo Hoo!!!

These flowers...funny how I came across these!! I was going to throw out  a bag of potpourri and started looking at it and these pieces looked like flower petals so I got out the glue gun and away I went. They are pretty tough and I decided to add them to the layout above. If anything you could use these in self defense!! Different.

Now I am on a cotton picking stick pin obsession!! I love what they add to a layout or a card, so I made a bunch and added them to my etsy shop also.  But the avenues in this hobby are endless and I just love all the new stuff that comes out. I do like to make a lot of my own stuff though. Well that is is for the week. Sure hope you all have a good one!!

A few new items to share!

 Happy Sunday to all...

I made this card for a friend who is going to have a rough couple of weeks ahead of her. She has to under go some awful surgery. Hope it brings a smile to her face, even if only for a moment.
This male card I made for my cousin Paul. I opened the mail box yesterday and found a dvd he sent me that he made and it is old (really old) home movies from when we were kids. He is like 10 years older than me but there are pics of my Grandpa and I was about 2 yrs. old sitting on his lap!! Also pics of my parents in their early 40's. I baled like a baby watching it!!!! So I wanted to do something for him.
These atc's......well what can I say. I was just fiddlefarting around one day and anyone who knows me knows I love horses so this is what I came up with. Sometimes when I am making these I do feel like I am 13 again!!!

Thank you for visiting my blog and have a great week....until next time..........

Simple

I made this page for a scrapbook class I am teaching. I wanted to keep the costs down for everyone so I came up with this. I used 3 sheets of card stock..1 for the background and two for the design. Used 1 prima flower which does not match because I saved the ones that do for the girls to use. With the scraps left over form matting I made flowers that match also the curls. Had to use that tattered turquoise ribbon!!! So this page cost about $5.00 to make. Not to bad considering how much stuff I like to put on a page!!! Well thank you for visiting

Featherrflies

Introducing my FEATHERRFLIES!!! I was collecting my roosters feathers to use on my pages and wanted to do something different with them so I started fiddling around and came up with the featherrflies. To much time on my hands?? I wish! But these were fun to make and I hope to get some in my etsy shop soon.

So far this is my favorite one. Don't know why but it is. Kinda reminds me of a crab.
You can't really tell but this one has that green sheen in the black on the top feathers and I used hackle feathers for the bottom wings. Well thats about it for now.

For Jenny

A card I made for a dear friend who is not feeling very well. I hope this puts a smile on her face for a second or two. I actually have not seen her since we were 13 years old but we have stayed in contact over the years and I am going to visit her next June. We were kids last time we saw each other and now we have grandbabies!!! Where did that time go!! Thank you for visiting...have a great week.

My daughter and Grand Daughter

Just a picture I snapped in the backyard. Both girls happened to be in a dress. I entered this in a challenge over at lets get shabby but there is so much talent over there!!  This was probably my 5th attempt at the shabby look.

You Will Always Be My Little Girl

Vintage card

This is a card I made for a dear friend, laceykat. I love making the vintage cards. Did a little cut out on this and I just love distressing, tearing and inking.

Little Mary

This layout is of my Mom when she was a year old which was in 1924. I did enter the in the Heritage challenge over at sb.com and actually tied for first. I felt pretty good about that. Did a lot of cutting again, I like to add that to my layouts. I am still learning the vintage -- shabby way of things but I have found I love that style and have a hard time going back to what I use to do. Thank you for looking!!

Sisk-Q

Well I am trying to figure out just exactly how to get around in here. So I thought I would try and upload some images. I made a layout of a dog we use to have and thought I'd share it. I did a lot of fussy cutting on this. The entire bone swirl...yes each bone was cut out. The Pug dog was from a dog book and so was the fox. The feathers are actually from our chickens!!

New "Grab Bags" in the store..

Hi there, Hope everyone is having a fantastic day...Here in California we have not really had a winter yet...waiting on some most needed ra...
